| What is Cloud Chasing?21 April 2016 So, you've heard the phrase 'cloud chasing' bandied about in certain circles. You might have images in your head of jumping out of planes, but unlike loose cannon Johnny Utah we don't roll like that here at Vape Mountain. In fact, we don't roll at all, because we've found a better alternative. But enough of that, you asked about cloud chasing, so listen up. What is Cloud Chasing?Cloud chasing is a pretty simple concept, as it consists of trying to create the biggest clouds of vapour possible when vaping. It is essentially competitive vaping, as people often compete to see who can be the master of the vaping cumolonimbus. Fans, fame and (modest) prize money are all on the cards should you reach the upper echelons of this small but growing sport. Cool, I Want to Get Started!Steady on there, young padawan. The modifications needed to create these epic clouds can often be quite complicated, and involve playing around with the power and resistance of your vape. This can lead you to the murky world of sub-ohm vaping. Sub-ohm vaping means to vape with an atomiser that has a coil with a low resistance (less than 1 ohm). The difference with these low-resistance attachments is that more of the power can then be used to heat up your e-juice. A larger amount of heat is therefore spread over a much larger area, causing more juice to be vaporised and larger clouds to be produced! You can either build your own atomiser for this purpose, or buy one ready made. One word of caution, though - sub-ohm vaping is not recommended for beginners, and should only be undertaken by experienced vapers with a knowledge of ohm's law. That means you might have to wait a while to be competitive, or risk your equipment blowing up mid-vape! Is There an Easier Way?Your choice of e-liquid also has a big effect on how large you can make your clouds. The easiest way to begin chasing those clouds is to choose a liquid with a high percentage of Vegetable Glycerin (VG) compared to PG (Propylene Glycol). VG creates more vapour so the higher the concentration the better. Be careful that the rest of your set-up is compatible, though, because some equipment might not work with high amounts of VG. I'm Ready to CompeteYou've been vaping for a while. You've learned both the basic, and more advanced principles of vaping, and you've even built your own equipment. You've been featured in a training montage with inspirational 80's music. The time has come to test yourself against the best! Your first port of call should be the local vape shop. These places often hold competitions to see who's the best cloud chaser. Should you emerge victorious, it's time for the big leagues. Some cities host specialised competitions, and if you're good enough, and willing to go to California or Los Angeles, you could even compete in the world championships. Thousands of adoring fans, e-cigarette sponsorship, you've made it! Take Me to the Clouds AboveReady to start your cloud chasing journey? Check out Vape Mountain's range of vaping gear now!
