Round Two: Tobacco and Tar
Vaping: No tobacco, and therefore no tar, found in electronic cigarettes.
Smoking: Cigarettes contain tobacco. When you light a cigarette this is burnt, producing toxic tar.

Vaping: Nothing is burnt in the process of vaping – only heated. No smoke is formed or inhaled – only vapour.
Tobacco: Burning tobacco = combustion and smoke. This produces harmful by-products e.g. carcinogens.

Vaping: Users can control their nicotine intake. Different concentrations of nicotine available – including low and nicotine-free options.
Smoking: Users cannot control or lower the amount of nicotine in their cigarettes.
Round Five: Ingredients
Vaping: 3-5 ingredients. Flavouring, vegetable glycerine and propylene glycerine, both found in food and hygiene products. Also can contain distilled water and nicotine.
Smoking: Cigarette smoke contains thousands of chemicals which are inhaled into the lungs.
Round Six: Flavour
Vaping: A huge amount of different flavours available to try, from the standard to the weird and wonderful.
Smoking: Generally limited to tobacco or menthol flavours.
Round Seven: Smell
Vaping: Flavours produce a subtle, pleasant smelling, light vapour.
Smoking: Cigarette smoke causes bad breath and clings to your hair, clothes and furniture.
Round Eight: Second Hand Smoke
Vaping: No smoke formed, so no dangers of second-hand smoke inhalation.
Smoking: Smoking in the same environment as others can be detrimental to their health as well as your own.
Round Nine: Cancer and Disease
Vaping: No known links to cancer or lung disease. No carcinogens are produced.
Smoking: Proven to cause lung, throat and mouth cancer and a host of other diseases and health problems.
Round 10: Long-Term Effects
Vaping: Still relatively new to the market – long-term health effects are unknown.
Smoking: The long-term effects of smoking are known, including premature aging, infertility, disease and death.
